Course Description:

This 2-day workshop will provide participants with the fundamentals needed to assess, treat, and prevent a variety of common injuries to the shoulder and elbow/forearm. The course will consist of lecture, demonstration, and hands-on practice integrating a variety of physical examination and acupuncture techniques. Participants can expect to gain proficiency in clinical anatomy, palpation, range of motion assessment, manual muscle testing, orthopedic testing, and trigger point needling. 

Course Outline:

Day 1:

9:00 – 9:30 AM: Introduction, Orthopedic and Trigger Point Acupuncture Basics

9:30 – 10:00 AM: Clinical Anatomy of the Shoulder

10:00 – 11:00 AM: Inspection and Range of Motion (ROM) Assessment

11:00 – 12:30 PM: Shoulder Orthopedic Testing, Demonstration, and Practice
